Routine Leg Works, Compression socks, and a New Year

Today the wind died down and I was able to get the SS cross bike rolling. I was hoping for some dirt, but everything is still just to wet. I don't want to be "that guy" when it comes to ruining trails.
Although the wind was nothing like yesterday, it was present. The wind was coming out of the North which left me with a warm 25 degrees. Knowing it was going to be a bit chilly I broke out a new batch of RLW flahute. I have to give the boys credit! This stuff is amazing. I know they have been working on a great product to make it even better and they did it. I rubbed the Flahute into my toes, feet, quads, hamstrings, and knees and out the door I went.
Not at any moment of the ride did I think about turning for home because of cold toes, feet, or legs. As a matter of fact I kept smiling knowing that I could keep going, even if my face was getting cold.
After getting home I realized that the wind was a little stronger then I thought. My legs were feeling tired. I grabbed the RLW Recovery, pulled on the CEP compression socks and watched the Cross Fit World Championships, those people are ripped! No place for a skinny beer drinking single speeder.

Today I created an Excel spreadsheet to help keep track of training. Ya, I have a powertap and that works great for the road bike but I ride my SS cross and mtn bike so much that I wanted a place to keep track of everything. I color coded it in hopes to keep me motivated. I am so visual that a simple color, say red. Freaks me out! I need to move it from red to green! I think I'm a little OCD.

Today was an amazing day of riding. I love getting back from a ride and look forward to making it happen all over again tomorrow. My overall goal for the year is to have many, many days just like today.
